Our flexible and qualified team of experienced allied health therapists for children includes physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists, communication and assistive technology consultants, occupational therapists and behaviour support practitioners.
Early Childhood Intervention at Yooralla
We provide specialist therapies and supports for kids with developmental delay or disability and recognise the importance of early intervention in building a child’s capacity through their early years.
Our team of allied health specialists will work together with your family to get to know your child and deliver supports and strategies tailored to your child’s own individual needs. Our goal is to support your child’s development, inclusion, learning and health within your home and in the community, including childcare, kindergarten and school. We can provide one-to-one support where and when it suits your child and family.
A key worker may be your main point of contact and will assist to coordinate your services. Key workers can manage links between your child, your family and your transdisciplinary support team (such as a psychologist, occupational therapist and speech pathologist) to ensure a smooth delivery of services.
At every stage, your family are important members of the team, and they will be involved in all aspects of the program and decision making.

Therapy supports we provide for children
Some of the ways we may provide support to your child and family include:
- Individual therapies such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, communication and assistive technology, behaviour support or psychology for children.
- Therapy assessments including play, fine motor and speech and language assessments.
- Support to access community activities.
- Transition planning and inclusion for children into childcare, kindergarten and school.
- Assistance with equipment requirements and environment modification.
- Behaviour support to develop strategies that build on your child’s strengths and are based on developing positive relationships, communication and coping skills.
- Support to access early powered mobility through our 'On the Move' powered mobility program.

Yes. We know these can be stressful times for families. We can help plan for this change and support your child and family through the transition period.
Our allied health team can provide behaviour support to develop strategies that build on your child’s strengths, supporting them to develop positive relationships, communication and coping skills.
We can also provide assessment, advice and training, report writing, plan development and intervention for individuals, parents, teams and school staff. to ensure your child is fully included in programs and activities.

We also provide specialist therapy supports in schools; supporting students with disability or developmental delay to build their capacity and independence, and to achieve their goals.
