Inclusion
Improve inclusion and workplace culture.
Partnering with Impact helps businesses create an inclusive workforce, improve culture, and support individuals with intellectual disability, driving positive social impact and brand loyalty.
The Impact program is a work-readiness and personal development program for adults with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. The program was developed in conjunction with Jobs Victoria and aims to increase social and civic inclusion, independence, and help participants secure ongoing paid employment.
The Impact program uses a holistic approach and tailors support to the person with disability and their own unique needs. It focuses on hands-on learning and personal growth, based on proven methods for supporting people with intellectual disabilities.
The program is hosted at Yooralla’s head office in Melbourne’s CBD, in a professional and inclusive environment. Participants gain real-world work experience and learn to commute and engage in a professional setting.
The Impact program provides continuous support and professional development to help participants transition into the workforce.
Businesses that hire people with disability gain access to diverse skills, talents, and qualifications. Workers with disability have higher retention rates, better attendance, and fewer health and safety issues compared to those without disabilities.
Many businesses are working towards more diverse and inclusive workplaces, including people of all genders, ages, ethnicities, and abilities.
Only 9.6% of people with intellectual disability succeed in jobs after six months. Partnering with Impact helps disrupt this statistic, offering tailored support to both potential employees and employers, and opportunities for lasting employment.
The Impact program has successfully partnered with well-known organisations like Ben and Jerry's, M80 Alliance, Powercor, Virgin Australia, ACMI, Bunnings, and Tennis Australia.
These partnerships help businesses improve their inclusion readiness through ongoing support and training for both employees and employers.
