Yooralla’s Occupational Therapy (OT) supports assist children, young people and adults with disability to learn new ways to participate in daily life activities and build independence.
Occupational Therapy (OT) for children, young people and adults at Yooralla
Yooralla is a registered NDIS Occupational Therapy provider. Our experienced, flexible occupational therapists (OTs) can assist kids, teenagers and adults in enhancing their independence across a wide range of daily activities, supporting independence at home, kindergarten, childcare, school, work and in the community.
We provide comprehensive assessments, individual and group-based interventions to assist people with disability to develop skills tailored to their needs and goals.
We can work with people, and their support network, to:
- promote the development of learning and play skills
- develop self-care, fine motor and daily life skills
- develop NDIS functional capacity assessments to evaluate the ability to carry out tasks in everyday life, with and without support
- provide advice on basic modification of home environments
- seating and pressure care management to support activities at work, school and at home
- provide advice on positioning and mobility
- conduct falls risk assessments, and
- assess sensory processing patterns and advise on how the sensory environment can be modified to meet people’s needs.
Assistive Technology (AT) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) at Yooralla
Our qualified team of occupational therapists are highly experienced in specialised and AT and can support your functional capacity and safety.
We can support you to select the right equipment and provide training to safely use it. This could include: wheelchairs, transfer aids, shower commodes, pressure relieving cushions, dining chairs and vehicle modifications. Our team can also complete prescription and funding applications as required.
