Introducing our special AGM guest speaker - Nimo Hersi
We are thrilled to welcome Nimo Hersi, our special guest speaker, to our 2022 Big Day Out on Monday 28 November.
Nimo Hersi, a prominent disability advocate, will be sharing her personal journey to advocacy and her thoughts on how to promote leadership for people with lived experience.
About Nimo Hersi
Currently working in the disability space as a consultant, Nimo is the former disability advocacy coordinator for the Ethnic Communities Council of Victoria and is part of the Strategic Advisory Committee for People with Disability Australia, (PWDA).
She sat on the advisory committee for Financial Capability Projects at Women’s Referral Exchange Network, (WIRE) and is one of the co-designers of the Intersectional Guide for designing, adapting and delivering financial capability education. Nimo coordinated the Multicultural NDIS Connector Project for ECCV and was a bilingual Financial Literacy educator for Women’s Health in the North.
Nimo is from an East African background, a mother of two and a passionate advocate for women, children and young people with a disability from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Nimo is currently undertaking a Graduate Certificate of Politics and Policy with Deakin University.
Whether you are attending in person at Melbourne Town Hall or online, you can participate in all the fun on the day!
