At Yooralla’s Community Hubs, every day is an opportunity to explore your interests, learn new skills, be creative and meet new friends. Whether it’s through art classes, performing arts programs, job skills or employment training, or celebrating important events with friends, our Hubs offer a wide range of activities and programs to suit everyone’s goals.

So, how will you spend your day? Here are some examples of how Yooralla clients are making the most of their time at our Hubs across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Building social connections

Our Community Hubs are all about creating spaces where people can come together. Whether it’s celebrating special occasions, events or forming friendships – socialising plays a big part in many people’s days.

Our Leongatha Community Hub clients recently celebrated International White Cane Day, learning more from Damian, who shared his journey of using a cane and how it helps him stay independent.

At Yooralla’s Benalla Hub, clients gather for events such as Christmas in July and International Day of Friendship, celebrating with laughter and connection.

Over at Mansfield Hub, themed parties like the fun-filled Pirate Party, the groovy glow disco and a beach party are regular highlights, bringing everyone together to decorate the Hub, eat delicious food and dance the night away.

Our Drouin Hub also celebrated International Day of Friendship together and got the disco fever at their neon disco party!

Exploring creativity through art

For those looking to explore their creative side, the Mansfield Community Hub hosts a variety of art activities. Clients have expressed themselves through painting and proudly showcased their creations at local art markets and exhibitions.

Through these art programs, a group of talented artists even launched their own business, MY Kaleidoscope, selling their incredible artwork to the local community. You can follow their journey on Facebook.

Developing job skills

If building job skills and employment pathways is your goal, our Hubs offer hands-on training and real-world opportunities. The Leongatha Hub is home to a great hospitality program where clients develop skills through catering events for the local community, boosting confidence and preparing them for future work opportunities.

Our Foundation Program is also offered through our Community Hubs. Designed for young adults aged 16 to 22 years with intellectual disability, this program helps build self-awareness, vocational skills, and independence, providing a strong foundation for future life goals, including transitioning into the Impact Program.

Education and learning

Education and learning

Learning never stops at our Hubs! Yooralla’s Northern Learning Hub offers several non-accredited training programs matched to individual goals and needs.

Maybe you’re interested in learning more about history and culture? Our Drouin Hub celebrated NAIDOC Week together, learning about First Nations culture or participating in daily learning activities, clients expand their horizons every day.

Community partnerships and volunteering

At Mansfield Hub, clients recently enjoyed an unforgettable experience through our partnership with Cycling Without Age Mansfield, hopping onto trishaw bikes and experiencing the joy of a community ride.

In Leongatha, a partnership with the Commonwealth Bank saw clients helping to deliver Easter joy through a fun-filled celebration.

Volunteering is also a big part of community life. At the Leongatha Hubclients like Steph have been giving back through their volunteering journeys, helping with whatever they can and learning valuable life skills along the way.

Discovering the performing arts

If you love performing, you’ll fit right in at the Macey Heights Community Hub. Macey has taken centre stage in various productions, including Macey Rouge and a stellar performance of Aladdin, wowing audiences and bringing stories to life. Could performing arts be your next adventure?

Getting active with sports and fitness

With a variety of sports and fitness programs, our Hubs are a great place for sports lover! The Drouin Ducks basketball team, formed with some of the clients from our Drouin Community Hub, regularly hit the court and recently won at the Special Olympics Victoria state games! Are you ready to shoot some hoops too?

Our Benalla, Wangaratta and Mansfield Hubs came together to represent their Hubs at the Tri State Games. The talented Yooralla Canons went in guns blazing and completed in a variety of events - with 23 medals won at the end of the competition!

Where are our Community Hubs located?
