Hi-vis and helping hands: K&L Gates teams up with Yooralla for a day of service

This was the second year running where K&L Gates chose Yooralla as the beneficiary of their Global Day of Service, where each of their offices give back to the community by providing labour for a worthwhile cause. 

“What drew K&L Gates to Yooralla is that they are a well-known and trusted organisation helping people with disability and we knew that this would appeal to our people,” said Mark Enright, HR Manager at K&L Gates.

“Many of our staff immediately signed up to volunteer their time to the cause and the feedback from staff was extremely positive,” he said.

“[They] loved interacting with Yooralla's staff and felt welcomed and enjoyed all of the interactions thoroughly,” Mark said. 

It was a great day, with K&L Gates staff helping to pack some of the wares that come out of the warehouse, including basketballs and hamper products – while enjoying great chats with the Supported Employees. 

“Yooralla staff members were delighted to show us their roles and teaching us how to assist them, and we had some great chats too,” said Mark. 

“Our staff enjoyed these conversations with Yooralla staff who were very passionate about their roles and were also happy to share a story or two about their lives,” he said. 

The chats didn’t get in the way of their work, with the contribution of the K&L Gates staff meaning some of the jobs in the warehouse were completed two days ahead of schedule – an amazing result!

“Our people loved the experience and are all looking forward to coming back next year to help out again. Thanks for having us Yooralla and see you in 2025,” said Mark.
