Something to love for everyone

One standout moment came from Robyn, who shared her love for Lee Kernaghan’s song ‘Fire’ with the captive audience. "I really love the song ‘Fire’ and everybody watching me dance and sing to it," Robin said.

Mary, another of our talented performers, has a great evening. "I loved it! I danced a lot and really liked the sausage sizzle," Mary said.

Jenny echoed the sentiments of excitement. "I loved having the crowd turn up to watch me and the dance group perform. My sister was there taking photos, and the sausage sizzle was great too,” Jenny said.

The event’s atmosphere was lifted even further by a surprise visit from Santa, creating an extra buzz of excitement.

“It was good that Santa showed up, but I knew it was Brad! I also helped Chelsea make a goodbye letter for Jess, one of our DSWs, as she’s going on maternity leave,” Jenny said.

Robin agreed that “Santa was good, but I knew who he was!"

Community spirit on full display

Participants and Disability Support Workers collaborated on the decorations and event setup, adding a personal and heartfelt touch to the celebration.

Local police officers and employees from Yooralla’s head office were among the attendees, further highlighting the strong ties between the Benalla Hub and the broader community.

As the crowd enjoyed a BBQ, they took a moment to reflect on the year that was 2024, cherishing the laughter, connections, and accomplishments that made the evening so special.

This celebration of talent and togetherness was a fitting way to cap off a wonderful year at the Benalla Hub, leaving everyone with smiles and cherished memories to carry into the new year.
